Lakeland University's Dezmon Eddie, Orman Smothers and Conrad Foss have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Student-Athletes of the Week for events of Oct. 30-Nov. 5, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Eddie (Alexandria, La.) broke a 27-year old school single-game rushing record with 308 yards in Muskies' 49-13 win in the rain over Concordia University Chicago, third-most this season in Division III. The sophomore running back gained 258 yards in the first half alone and piled up all of his yardage in three quarters of work. He scored on a 52-yard touchdown run and had eight runs of at least 10 yards.
Smothers (Gadsden, Ala.) intercepted two passes in the first half of Muskies' title-clinching win over Concordia Chicago. The rookie defensive back also added three tackles and a pass breakup.
Foss (Muskegon, Mich.) made 5-of-6 extra point attempts in the Muskies' victory.
