Benedictine University's Ryan Sample, Concordia University Wisconsin's Jon Rauh and Benedictine's Grant Klaver have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Student-Athletes of the Week for events of Oct. 23-29, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Sample (Manteno, Ill.) set a school record and matched the conference mark by throwing seven touchdown passes in a win at Concordia University Chicago. The senior quarterback finished with 360 yards passing on just 20 completions with a long of 62. He completed passes to seven different receivers and has not thrown an interception in 111 attempts.
Rauh (Slinger, Wis.) made 12 tackles and recovered two fumbles in the Falcons 26-20 win at Rockford University Saturday. The junior defensive back also broke up a pass and forced one of the two fumbles he recovered. His second fumble recovery came in the third quarter and helped set up a then game-tying touchdown.
Klaver (Mason, Mich.) averaged 53.3 yards per punt on three attempts with a long of 62. The sophomore pinned CUC inside the 20 once in the win.
