Lakeland University's Eldrada Meeks and Donte Rowell and Rockford University's Alexis Guteirrez have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Student-Athletes of the Week for events of Sept. 25-Oct. 1, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Meeks (Southfield, Mich.) had a career-high 220 yards rushing and a touchdown on 21 carries before sitting out the fourth quarter as Muskies kept the Cheese Bowl with win over Concordia University Wisconsin. The junior running back averaged 10.5 yards per carry as he posted Lakeland's first 200-yard rushing game since 1998.
Rowell (Chicago, Ill.) intercepted two passes in the first half of Muskies' win over Concordia Wisconsin Saturday, including returning the first 50 yards for a touchdown. The senior defensive back also broke up two passes.
Guteirrez (Amboy, Ill.) was perfect on all three of his kicks, making both extra point attempts and connecting on a 24-yard field goal. He also punted eight times averaging 41.9 yards per punt.
