Benedictine University's Emma Roberts qualified for the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship as the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the team and individual qualifiers Sunday.
In order to be eligible to participate in the championships, teams and individuals must qualify in their respective NCAA regions.
Fifty-six individuals, the first seven student-athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship. Roberts, who won the 2017 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship two weeks ago, finished 17th at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional with a time of 21:27.5, a record time for a NACC finisher at the Regional.
