MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Milwaukee School of Engineering senior Shelby Namen has been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Tuesday.

Namen, who was named to the Second Team, is a three-time all-league performer and has maintained a 3.98 grade point average in biomolecular engineering.

Namen has been a strong force in the Raiders central defense over the last three seasons. This season, she started all 22 games and helped MSOE to a 0.72 goals against average in league play with six shutouts. Overall, the Red & White posted nine shutouts on the season.

A two-time All-NACC First-Team honoree and the 2016 NACC Defensive Player of the Year, Namen has added two all-region awards. She added a pair of goals and three assists to the attack this season and was named to the All-NACC Second Team.

Namen is the fourth Academic All-American in team history and the first since Caitlin Liddiard was chosen for the second team in 2016. Tori St. Martin (2015, Third Team) and Kate Hermann (2012, First Team) have also earned the honor.
