MILWAUKEE -- Wisconsin Lutheran College sophomore women's basketball player Jen Dowden (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) has been named to the 2017 D3hoops.com All-Central Region Third Team, as announced by the website on Monday. This marks the ninth straight season that a Warriors player has received All-Region recognition from D3hoops.com.
Dowden, a First Team All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference selection for the second straight year, started all 20 games played for the Warriors. She ranked second in the conference in scoring (19.7 ppg), fourth in field goal percentage (53.3), and seventh in three-point percentage (34.8). The sophomore forward also led the Warriors in free throws (76-for-103) and minutes played per game (30.0). Dowden, who led the team in scoring and was second in rebounding (5.8 rpg), scored in double-figures all 20 games she played this season, including at least 20 points in eight games. Dowden poured in a career-high 35 points on December 10 vs. Concordia Chicago.
Dowden, who received All-Central Region Second Team accolades last year, was honored as the NACC Student-Athlete of the Week three times on Dec. 5, Dec. 12, and Dec. 26.
Wisconsin Lutheran finished its 2016-2017 season 16-10 overall and ended at least three games over .500 for the 12th straight year.
