MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Sami Huebner of Wisconsin Lutheran College and James Bockhop of Edgewood College have been named the initial Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Indoor Track and Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the 2018-19 season, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Huebner, a senior from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, won the 400-meter dash Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational with a school-record time of 1:01.20, breaking her own mark by .01 seconds. Her mark is the top time in the conference and currently ranks ninth in Division III. Huebner also made the final of the 60-meter hurdles (10.05 prelim; 11.33 final) and cleared 4.46 meters (14-7 3/4) in the long jump as WLC took fourth as a team.
Bockhop, a freshman from Sauk City, Wisconsin, set the school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.75 seconds at Saturday's UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational. He was the top attached runner in the race and his time currently sits atop the NACC performance list after the opening weekend of competition. Bockhop also ran on the Eagles' 1,600-meter relay (3:34.47), which is second in the current NACC rankings.
