KENOSHA, Wis. -- Aurora University secured its sixth straight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference women's indoor track & field championship Sunday at Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.
It was the seventh overall title for the Spartans who won the 2018 championship with a team score of 191.5, followed by Concordia University Wisconsin (120), Concordia University Chicago (89), MSOE (65), Benedictine University (63), Wisconsin Lutheran College (39.5), Edgewood College (34), Rockford University (15), Marian University (6) and Lakeland University (0).
MSOE's Jerica Kotarak was named the Athlete of the Meet and the Field Athlete of the Meet as she won the long jump (5.72 meters) and the triple jump (11.33). Her mark in the long jump is a new NACC record.
Aurora's Jackie Schane was named Track Athlete of the Meet as she won the mile (5:17.45) and 3,000 (10:19.63) and placed second in the 5,000 (17:52.50). Her time in the 3,000 is a new NACC Championship record.
Aurora's Auset Kheru and Concordia Chicago's Kayla Armstrong were named co-Freshmen of the Meet, while Brandon Sturman was voted Coach of the Meet by his peers.
