PLYMOUTH, Wisconsin -- Hailey Cavanagh has resigned as Lakeland University head softball coach, Lakeland Director of Athletics April Arvan announced today.
Cavanagh has resigned to take a coaching position at another school. She leaves Lakeland after serving as softball coach for the past five years.
"We thank Hailey for her years of service to Lakeland softball, our athletic department, and the university as a whole," said Arvan.
Cavanagh concludes her Lakeland tenure with 81 wins over five years, the third-most wins by a coach in program history. Her teams won at least 13 games every year, with the highlight being a 21-17 record in 2016 that included the Muskies' first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament appearance since 2012. Cavanagh also coached 12 players who received NACC all-conference recognition.
"I will forever be grateful to have been here at Lakeland the past five seasons," said Cavanagh. "I have to thank April for being a tremendous leader, mentor and friend and giving me the opportunity to run this program. Lakeland is a special place; I am not able to thank my team and the program enough for the impact they've made on my life."
"The Lakeland softball program has a rich tradition, and we are excited to continue its tradition," said Arvan. "Our current and future Muskies have a lot to look forward to."
