Dominican University has been picked to win the inaugural Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference men's volleyball championship according to the preseason poll, voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
The Stars finished 26-3 last season and earned a bye into the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Dominican won both the regular season and tournament titles in its former conference for men's volleyball, the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League.
The Stars received 11 of 14 first-place votes and 94 points in the preseason poll.
MSOE was second with 84 points and the remaining three top nods, Benedictine University was third with 73 and Marian University was fourth with 50.
Lakeland University was fifth with 46 points, followed by Aurora University's 29 and Concordia University Wisconsin's 16.
The NACC's regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
The 2018 season marks the first for men's volleyball in the NACC.
