Preseason Men's Tennis Poll Picks CUW For NACC Title Defense

Concordia University Wisconsin has been picked to win the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference men's tennis championship according to the preseason poll, voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

The Falcons captured a share of their seventh NACC title last year with a 7-1 record in league play (20-7 overall) and won the NACC Tournament which earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

CUW received 16 of the 18 first-place votes and 160 points in the preseason poll.

The other two defending co-champions, MSOE and Edgewood College, were second and third in the poll with 137 and 132 points, respectively, and a first-place vote each.

Aurora University was fourth with 106, Dominican University fifth with 81 and Wisconsin Lutheran College sixth with 70.

Marian University followed in seventh with 61, Concordia University Chicago eighth with 39 and Lakeland University ninth with 24.

The NACC's regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
