Eagles Win Share Of Third Straight NACC Title

HANOVER PARK, Illinois -- When the door opened, the Edgewood College men's tennis team barged through. Edgewood College needed a victory on the final day of the regular season to secure their third straight men's tennis title. The Eagles delivered with a shutout victory over Dominican University to claim a share of the NACC Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College held a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches. Brian Davenport and Evan Stone claimed an 8-2 victory over John Mysz and Camden Knights at No. 1 doubles.
- In singles play, Davenport and Stone took victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles by matching scores of 6-1, 6-0.
- Sabastion Seeger battled through a tough match at No. 5 singles vs. Antonio Morales, winning 6-2, 7-5.
- Andrew Martinez won at No. 3 singles, dominating the second set after a close first set, winning 7-5, 6-0 over Frank Lally.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Since resurrecting their program in 2010, the Edgewood College men's tennis team has now won three conference titles.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will be the third seed for the NACC Tournament which begins on Monday, May 1. The Eagles will host No. 6 seed Wisconsin Lutheran College at 4:00 at Quann Park.
