Myers Earns D3hoops All-Region Honor

AURORA, Ill. -- Aurora University senior guard Marcus Myers continued to add to his postseason awards today as released their 2018 All-Region Teams.

Myers was selected as a First-Team selection in the Central Region and will now move on to a potential All-American selection process. The honor comes a day after he was tabbed as a Second-Team All-Region performer by the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches). The two all-region honors follow his previous accolades of the 2018 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference selection.

On the season, Myers finished by averaging 20.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 50.7-percent from the field (232-of-458).

The Spartan men's team finished the 2017-2018 season with a 20-9 overall record and won the NACC regular season and tournament title with a 16-4 record. Backed by Myers buzzer-beating heroics AU defeated Washington University, St. Louis 82-80 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship.

Players chosen to the All-Region team are eligible for All-American selection. The men's All-American team will be announced at the end of this week, in conjunction with the Division III men's championships, and the women's will be announced in the week following the Division III women's semifinals.

This is the 17th year has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 21st annual All-American selections. The All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
