LISLE, Ill. -- Brayden Olson has been named Third Team All-Central Region by D3hoops.com.
Olson capped his career by becoming the first Benedictine player in the 12-year history of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference to lead the conference in scoring. Olson averaged 22.6 points per game and also led the conference in assists. The senior, who became the program's first 20-point per game scorer since 1993, connected on 79 three-pointers and posted six games with 30-plus points. Olson started every game and was selected as the NACC Player of the Week on three occasions.
Olson became the 30th player in program history to score 1,000 career points, achieving the mark on February 10. The Grand Rapids, Mich. native was a first team all-conference choice after finishing with 610 points, one of the best single seasons in school history. Olson started every game and reached double figures in all but two of the 27 contests, playing an average of nearly 35 minutes per contest.
Benedictine finished the 2017-18 season with a record of 17-10 after falling in the conference championship game.
