Rockford University's Tony Diemer has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for events of Jan. 2-8, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Diemer (Rockford, Illinois) notched a triple-double and a double-double in the Regents' two games last week. The sophomore forward opened with 26 points on 11-for-16 shooting, 13 rebounds and 11 assists to record the first triple-double for a Rockford men's basketball player in over 10 years. He followed it up with 21 points and 12 rebounds on Saturday to tally his fourth double-double of the season. For the week Diemer averaged a double-double with 23.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
