CUW's Nixon, Eureka's Noel, BenU's Klaver Take NACC Weekly Honors

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Sept. 11, 2018) --- Concordia University Wisconsin's Aaron Nixon (offense), Eureka College's Logan Noel (defense) and Benedictine University's Grant Klaver (special teams) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Football Student-Athletes of the Week for games played Saturday, Sept. 8, as selected by the league's sports information directors.


NACC Football Offensive Player of the Week

Aaron Nixon, Concordia University Wisconsin

Nixon, a senior quarterback from North Prairie, Wisconsin, accounted for 503 yards and three touchdowns in the Falcons' 27-24 setback against Augsburg. He completed 33 of 51 passes for 358 yards and two scores while adding 140 yards on the ground, including a 60-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter. Nixon averaged 7.0 yards per pass attempt 10.8 yards per rush.

NACC Football Defensive Player of the Week

Logan Noel, Eureka College

Noel, a sophomore linebacker from Westville, Illinois, led Eureka with six tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack, in the Red Devils' 38-6 win over Iowa Wesleyan. Noel's effort allowed the Eureka defense to limit IWU to 98 total yards, including negative-13 rushing yards.

NACC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Grant Klaver, Benedictine University

Klaver, a junior punter/quarterback from Mason, Michigan, punted six times for an average of 50.5 yards per kick in the Eagles' 39-20 loss to Loras. He played a significant role in turning field position, pinning the Duhawks inside their own 20 on three occasions. Four of his six kicks exceeded 40 yards, including two of 50-plus yards and an 84-yarder that ranks as the second longest boot in program history.
