MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Sept. 5, 2018) --- Concordia University Chicago's Lance Moise (offense) and Rodolfo Payan (defense) and Eureka College's Tanner Kuhne (special teams) have been named NACC Football Student-Athletes of the Week for games played Saturday, Sept. 1, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Moise (Coral Springs, Fla.), a junior running back, ran for a career-high 303 yards on 25 carries with a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs as the Cougars defeated Beloit 36-10. His longest run of the day was a 74-yard scamper on CUC's first play from scrimmage that set up his first score. Moise now holds the Cougars' third-highest single-game rushing total after surpassing his previous single-game best of 282 yards. He also had one catch for one yard.
Payan (El Paso, Texas), a senior linebacker, led the CUC defense with 12 stops (seven solo) against Beloit. He also forced a fumble and split a tackle for loss as the Cougar defense kept Beloit out of the end zone during the game's first three quarters while allowing the Buccaneers to convert just six of 16 opportunities in third down.
Kuhne (Princeton, Ill.), a junior punter/placekicker, was a steady presence in the Red Devils' 49-24 Lincoln Bowl Trophy win at Knox. He was a perfect 7-for-7 on extra-point attempts, booted five of his eight kickoffs for touchbacks and placed three of five punts inside the Prairie Fire's 20-yard line.
