  • Pair Of Spartans Selected To Participate In NCAA Career In Sports Forum

    Aurora University football student-athletes, Will Craig and Kendall Lawson have been tabbed to participate in the 2017 NCAA Career in Sports Forum (CSF) June 1-4, 2017 at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Craig and Lawson will both be entering their senior seasons in 2017 on the Spartan football team, Craig as an offensive lineman and Lawson as a wide receiver.

  • Sample's Run Named D3football.com Play of the Week

    Ryan Sample broke away from six tackles en route to a career best 48-yard scamper on a third-down play in the third quarter of Saturday's win over Adrian, the first win over Adrian in school history. The play, embedded below with multiple angles, has been selected by D3football.com as the Play of the Week. Sample accounted for all five touchdowns in the 35-28 win including the game-winner by jumping over the pile from two yards out with just over a minute left in the game. The junior, in his second season as the starter, threw for 350 yards and ran for 61 to help Benedictine head into a bye week with a 2-1 record. Adrian had beaten Benedictine by a combined 59-13 score over the past two seasons with both meetings coming as part of the annual MIAA-NACC Challenge series. Benedictine's win on Saturday was one of only two for the conference this season. The MIAA owns a 12-2 record over the past two years of the series. Benedictine returns to action at home on October 1 against Rockford University in the NACC opener.
