GREENSBORO, N.C. – Mitch Wilson has already left his name in the Concordia University Chicago baseball record book as the program's all-time leader in hits. But the second baseman's game is more than one-dimensional, as he proved by winning a NCAA Division III Gold Glove award for 2018 from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings.

Wilson, who has been the Cougars' regular second baseman since his sophomore year, had arguably his best season defensively in 2018. He recorded a .987 fielding percentage with just three errors in 237 total chances while also taking part in 35 double plays. Wilson also demonstrated a good range at his position, often going into short right or right-center field to make plays.

Wilson's Gold Glove adds to an impressive career list of awards that includes four first-team all-conference honors, multiple all-region honors including 2017 and 2018 first-team All-Midwest honors by the ABCA, and a 2017 first-team all-region honor and third-team All-American honor by D3baseball.com.
